Lamy is currently in Bruges. We arrived yesterday after spending five great days in Amsterdam. The day that we arrived in Amsterdam was King's Day, a giant fun outdoor national holiday. After we found alternate accommodation following our Airbnb fiasco, we wandered throughout the city, taking in the sites.
We spent a lot of time in the De Pijp area and in particular Sarphatipark which was full of families enjoying the day and selling their wares. Kingsday is essentially a giant flea market across the whole city!
Human Fruit Machine!
I have no idea what is happening in the above picture....auto erotic asphyxiation device in the park? 2 Euros a pop? Even the kid in the bottom right corner cant watch...
Jam!
After hanging out in De Pijp, we wandered over to the Museum Quarter and the Rijksmuseum.
The next few days we spent lots of time in Vondelpark which was just steps away from our hotel. Vondelpark is kind of like the Central Park of Amsterdam.
And then we spent some more time at Sarphatipark (including a workout on some public park facilities set up for getting your athletic pump on)....
We also went to four museums while in Amsterdam: Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum, Rembrandt House and a Houseboat Museum.
Matisse cut outs at the modern art museum, Stedelijk.
The Night's Watch by Rembrandt at the Rijksmuseum.
I think the guy in the middle of this picture with a brown rimmed hat looks like Sheldong!
SWAN!
Okay, now its time for some other random shots:
THIS IS MY FAVOURITE PICTURE! We were having lunch across the street from the Toms store in the Nines Streets shopping area. It was a lesson in how to be a hipster. This SHOE STORE had a coffee bar inside (you can see inside the door on the right), a DJ spinning music at 11am (in the right window you can see his shaved head groovin to his awesome beats) and a ukulele wielding sales person who also was handing out vegan cookies (ok, I dont know if they were vegan....I am just assuming)
Out and about near the Nines Street
Having a break before the Rembrandt House
Okay, that should do it for now. We will post some more pics of our adventures soon. We hope you are all doing well.
Lots of love,
Lamy

Awesome picture of Lance laying on the square in Bruges with his shirt off! Nothing like making yourself at home!
ReplyDeleteNow that I see you with jackets on & wearing scarves, I don't hate you as much.
ReplyDeleteThanks Duane! It was a warm day and the hair on my back needed to breathe...
